Tonia Antoniazzi MP was vaccinated against the flu during a recent visit to Penclawdd Pharmacy in Gower.
She met with pharmacist and co-owner Jonathan Rees on 15 October, who administered the jab and described the NHS services available in pharmacies across Wales.
Jonathan, who also works part time for the National Pharmacy Association in Wales, said: “It was great to host Tonia at our pharmacy and show her the care we provide to people here every day. She was very positive and acknowledged the vital work we do. My team and colleagues all around the country have worked incredibly hard to serve patients during the Covid-19 pandemic and it’s good to see our efforts being recognised by MPs.”
After being vaccinated the MP for Gower said: “It’s important to have your flu jab so that we can protect each other and also reduce admissions to hospitals during the upcoming winter period. We need to protect ourselves and the NHS over what is going to be a challenging few months.
“When I have spoken to constituents in Penclawdd and Crofty they have told me how much they love Penclawdd Pharmacy and the excellent service that has been provided to them all, especially the more vulnerable during Covid.
“I’m really pleased to see that the pharmacy will be expanding their services to ensure the community is well served.”
